10 Days Buddist Tour

Package Description

Day 1: Delhi

Arrival in Delhi. A private transfer to a 5-star hotel. After rest, meet your tour manager and Buddhist guide for a gentle orientation over a light Asian-inspired dinner.

Day 2: Delhi to Bodh Gaya (via Gaya flight)

Fly to Gaya in the morning and check into a luxury hotel like Marasa Sarovar Premiere or Oaks Bodhgaya. In the afternoon, enter the Mahabodhi Temple complex—UNESCO World Heritage Site—to visit the Bodhi Tree, Vajrasana (Diamond Throne), and meditation paths; sit for guided meditation beneath the sacred tree. At dusk, return to the temple for chanting and a serene meditation session with local monks.

Day 3: Bodh Gaya immersion

Begin with Animesh Lochana Chaitya, Ratnagarh’s walking meditation path, and Muchalinda Lake where the serpent king sheltered the Buddha, taking quiet pauses for reflection. In the afternoon, enjoy a cultural circuit through the Thai Monastery, the Japanese Temple and 80-ft Buddha statue, and Burmese and Tibetan monasteries. Conclude at Sujata Village for storytelling at Sujata Stupa and a sunset meditation in the fields where the milk-rice offering was made.

Day 4: Bodh Gaya to Rajgir, Nalanda, and Patna

Drive to Rajgir to ascend Griddhakuta (Vulture Peak) by ropeway or road for a seated meditation at the preaching site, then stroll Venuvana, the bamboo grove gifted to the Buddha. Continue to Nalanda to explore the vast ruins of the ancient university and its archaeological museum, before proceeding to Patna for a comfortable overnight at a premium hotel.

Day 5: Patna to Vaishali and Kushinagar

Travel to Vaishali to see the Ashokan Pillar, Relic Stupa, and Vishwa Shanti Stupa, pausing for a brief garden meditation. After lunch, continue by road to Kushinagar with comfort halts; on arrival, pay respects at the Mahaparinirvana Temple with the Reclining Buddha and visit Ramabhar Stupa, the cremation site, before settling into a premium lodge for the night.

Day 6: Kushinagar to Lumbini (Nepal)

Spend a calm morning at the Japanese and Chinese Temples in Kushinagar, then cross Sonauli with pre-arranged VIP border assistance into Nepal. In Lumbini, check into a luxury resort such as Tiger Palace or Buddha Maya Garden and visit the Maya Devi Temple, sacred pond (Pushkarini), and Ashokan Pillar, followed by a leisurely tour of the World Monastic Zone (Thai, Cambodian, and Myanmar monasteries). Meditate quietly in the Maya Devi gardens at sunset.

Day 7: Lumbini to Sravasti (re-enter India)

Re-enter India with fast-track assistance and drive to Sravasti to wander Jetavana Monastery, the Ananda Bodhi Tree, and Gandhakuti (the Buddha’s hut). As the light softens, hold a gentle group meditation beneath the Bodhi tree in Jetavana before retiring to your hotel.

Day 8: Sravasti to Varanasi

Enjoy a scenic drive to Varanasi with a relaxed lunch stop en route, then check into a luxury property such as Taj Ganges or BrijRama Palace. In the evening, glide by private boat on the Ganges for the illuminated Ganga Aarti, watching from reserved seating with minimal walking and easy access.

Day 9: Sarnath and Varanasi culture

Set out to Sarnath to see Dhamek Stupa, Chaukhandi Stupa, Mulagandha Kuti Vihar (ideal for a short meditation among the murals), and the Sarnath Archaeological Museum with the Ashokan lion capital. Return to Varanasi for a silk-weaving demonstration and, for guests with energy, a gentle old-city heritage walk before a farewell dinner with live classical music back at the hotel.

Day 10: Varanasi to Delhi and departure

Meet the dawn on a calm Ganges sunrise cruise with light chanting and mindfulness, then enjoy breakfast and transfer to the airport for your business-class flight to Delhi, where assisted check-in connects you to your onward international departure.
